I digitised my parents' wedding reel, forgotten in a tin for 25 years. We watched it together at Christmas. Seeing my father moving, in colour — it floored me.

Mount the reel, thread the film, press start. Every frame is photographed individually and built into an MP4 on an SD card — no computer, no projector, no lab.
The film becomes an ordinary MP4. It opens on a phone, a laptop, a smart TV — anything your grandchildren already use.
Because it saves plain MP4, not a proprietary formatEvery frame is photographed square-on and in register. None of the strobing you get filming a projector screen.
Because it captures frame by frame, not by re-filmingThread it once and it runs on its own, building the file as it goes. Come back to a finished video.
Because the transport and the capture are automaticThe only copy of your father’s wedding stays on your own table. No courier, no lab, no waiting weeks.
Because the converter comes to the film, not the other way round
Place your 8 mm or Super 8 reel on the feed arm and an empty reel on the take-up side. Thread the film through the gate following the diagram printed on the deck — three contact points, marked clearly.

Choose 8 mm or Super 8 with the slider, set exposure if the film is dark, and press start. The converter photographs every frame and builds an MP4 as it goes. You can walk away.

Your film is now an MP4 on the SD card. Watch it on the built-in screen, plug into the TV with the cable supplied, or move it to a computer and send it to everyone.

A transfer house quoted by the foot. With a shelf of reels that was never going to happen. The unit paid for itself the first weekend — and my film never left the house.

I'd tried filming the wall with a projector — flicker everywhere. This I threaded once and understood in five minutes. My father's cine films are finally safe.
It records no sound, it is not real time, and badly spliced film can catch in the gate. All three are on this page because finding out afterwards is worse.
Every figure above is verifiable on the device. Nothing rounded up to sound better.
