The sensor is 8.1 megapixels. Files can be saved at 16 megapixels, but the extra pixels are added by software, not captured. We would rather say so than let you find out. For viewing, sharing and normal-size reprints, 8.1 MP is plenty.
Each negative, slide or print goes in its tray by hand. There is no feeder. The scan itself takes a second or two, so the rhythm is still quick — but it is not load-and-walk-away.
